Genesis HealthCare Moving Toward A Market-Focused, Vertically Integrated Long-Term Care Model
On November 12, 2021, Genesis HealthCare, Inc., a holding company and post-acute care provider organization that provides facility-based post-acute care, announced plans to shift to a vertically integrated community-based health care system in each of its current markets. The new system will include skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, rehabilitation therapy, physician services, and other ancillary services.
Previously, Genesis HealthCare subsidiaries operated in 24 states to provide skilled nursing facilities and assisted living communities. Genesis subsidiaries also supplied rehabilitation therapy to health care provider organizations in 44 states, the District of Columbia, and in China.
