Prevalence Of Childhood Disability Ranges From 4.9% To 14.0% In The U.S., Depending On The Survey Used
The prevalence of disability among children from birth to age 17 ranged from 4.9% to 14.0% for 2016 through 2018 in the United States according to the five definitions used in the National Survey of Children’s Health (NSCH). About 23.5% of the children in the NSCH met one or more definitions of disability, equating to about 15.7 million children in total.
