Adults in the United States have negative perceptions about the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in health care settings, whether it is used for diagnostic, therapeutic, or administrative tasks, according to a recent survey report. Survey participants viewing fictitious online ads presenting physicians using AI for various purposes rated the clinicians as less competent, less trustworthy, and less empathetic than a control group who rated physicians shown in ads that lacked statements about AI use.
