Tennessee Awards $32 Million State Employee EAP/BHO Contract To Optum
The Tennessee Department of Finance and Administration, Division of Benefits Administration selected United Behavioral Health dba Optum to provide administrative services for an employee assistance program (EAP) and behavioral health organization (BHO) for the state’s public sector employee plans. Optum was the incumbent. The contract is valued at $32 million. It launched on June 1, 2021, and runs through June 30, 2028. Optum will receive a per employee per month (PEPM) fee. For calendar year 2022, for the BHO administrative services component, the PEPM is $2.22. For the EAP component, the PEPM is $0.89.
