On April 6, 2021, the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) announced it had selected Belong, a division of St. Jude’s Ranch for Children - Texas Region, Inc (SJRC Texas) for the Community Based Care Region 8b contract. Region 8b includes all counties in DFPS Region 8 except for Bexar County. The contract is valued at $35 million; it runs for 60 months, and DFPS retains the option to renew for one additional 60-month term. Belong will function as the single source continuum contractor (SSCC) to oversee foster and kinship care placement, case management, and reunification services . . .
