On August 31, 2021, the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) Prevention and Early Intervention (PEI) programs selected five provider organizations for multi-year grant funding totaling $1.15 million to become family resource centers (FRCs) to provide community-based services to prevent child abuse. Each FRC will provide one-stop centers of community support with a range of services including supportive parenting groups, childhood development guidance classes, and help securing housing and employment. The Texas Alliance for Child and Family Services will provide technical support and staff training for the FRC grantees.
