On September 11, 2020, the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) issued a request for proposals (RFP HHS004478v2) seeking hospital services to be provided to residents of state-operated facilities. HHSC operates 13 regional state-supported living centers (SSLCs) for people with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) and 10 state psychiatric hospitals for people with mental health disorders. All awarded contractors that are general hospitals must provide inpatient or outpatient hospital services, or both.
