Suicide Deaths Among Connecticut Racial Minority Groups In Phase One COVID Lockdown Increased Significantly
During Connecticut’s lockdown due to coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), suicide deaths among rational minority groups increased significantly compared to the previous year. During 2019, the rate was 6.4 deaths per 100,000 racial minority residents. Between March 10 and May 20, 2020, during the state’s strict stay-at-home orders, the suicide death rate among racial minorities rose by 87% to 12.0 per 100,000.
