Those With I/DD Are More Likely To Die From COVID-19 Than Those Without I/DD
People with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), who are under the age of 75 years and have been diagnosed with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), are at greater risk of fatality than those without I/DD. The case-fatality rate among those with I/DD diagnosed with COVID-19 was 1.5 percentage points higher for children and 1.8 percentage points higher for adults ages 18 to 74 compared to case fatality rates for the same age groups without I/DD.
