Two-Thirds Of Adults With I/DD in Oregon & Southwest Washington Face Housing Insecurity
In Oregon and Southwestern Washington about 24,000 of the estimated 31,000 adults in 2019 with intellectual/developmental disability (I/DD) are at risk of housing insecurity due to rising housing costs in the region and exclusion from public planning processes. Of these adults at risk of housing insecurity, about 18,000 are living with family caregivers who are aging, and these individuals could lose their housing if their caregiver develops a serious illness or dies in the next decade.
