Unhoused People In San Francisco’s Homelessness Service System Have High Recidivism Rate
Of participants in San Francisco’s homeless service system who responded to a survey, a quarter said they became homeless in the past year, and 9% became homeless within three months prior to the survey. Of those who lost housing, 43% said it was because they were unable to pay rent. Among those who could not pay rent, 37% said it was due to a job loss, and 36% said they were still working, but their income was too low.
