Virginia Spending For Private Special Education Day Schools Doubled Since 2010, From $81 Million To $186 Million
Virginia spending for private special education day schools through the Children’s Services Act (CSA) more than doubled, from $81 million to $186 million, between fiscal year 2010 and fiscal year 2019. The $186 million for private day schools represented 44% of the total $427 million CSA spending in 2019. In 2010, the $81 million for private day schools represented about 22% of the total $360 million CSA spending that year.
