The Washington State Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) will begin licensing outdoor, nature-based child care and early learning programs. The new licensure is through Senate Bill (SB) 5151. It will encompass any organization or an organization-offered program that enrolls preschool or school-age children and teaches a nature-based curriculum in an outdoor, natural space approved by DCYF.
