West Virginia Governor Signs Legislation Allowing Charter Schools In 2020
On May 24, 2019, West Virginia's Governor Jim Justice signed the West Virginia Student Success Act of 2019, which allows the state's first charter schools to begin operations after July 1, 2020. The West Virginia Student Success Act of 2019 allows any group or entity with 501(c)3 status, or any that has applied for that status, to submit an application to launch a charter school.
