On August 30, 2021, the Wyoming Department of Health (WDH) Public Health Division launched a free, home-based virtual diabetes prevention program for all state residents at risk of developing type 2 diabetes. The state’s program is called #PreventDiabetes; it delivers the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)’s Diabetes Prevention Program. WDH contracted with incentaHEALTH, a Colorado-based digital health company, to offer the grant-funded #PreventDiabetes program. WDH estimates that about 35,000 state residents have been told they have prediabetes.
