Building A ‘Clinic Without Walls’: A Discussion With Ross Robinson, Former CEO Of Hill Country Mental Health And Developmental Disabilities Centers–OPEN MINDS Announces A Circle Elite Executive Roundtable December 16, 2021

GETTYSBURG, Pa. (November 21, 2021) – On December 16, at 1:00 p.m. ET, OPEN MINDS will host the Circle Elite Executive Roundtable Webinar, Building A ‘Clinic Without Walls’: A Discussion With Ross Robinson, Former CEO Of Hill Country Mental Health And Developmental Disabilities Centers, for executives of health and human service organizations. This executive web forum, featuring OPEN MINDS Senior Associate and former chief executive officer for The Hill Country Mental Health and Developmental Disability Centers Ross Robinson, will highlight how Hill Country MHDDC developed partnerships with small communities to expand services for people in their rural area of Texas. Mr. Robinson will be joined by Jason Lippman, senior associate at OPEN MINDS.

“According to 2020 Census data, 17.34 percent of Americans live in rural communities,” said OPEN MINDS Chief Executive Officer, Monica E. Oss. “These communities face resource limitations, poor infrastructure, communication issues and limited access to health care. With today’s technologies and a move to people-centric services, the Hill Country model offers a way to improve access, availability, and acceptability for those with SMI and other behavioral health needs.”

The pandemic has increased the need for behavioral and mental health services and elevated the accessibility and acceptability of telehealth services. In order to address these ongoing, and increasing needs, communities have an opportunity to collaborate with government, non-profit, and for-profit organizations to improve the services available and the level of care delivered through flexible, mobile, and person-centric services.

This Circle Elite Roundtable will introduce Hill Country, their challenges, opportunities, goals, and outcomes. Executive attendees will:

  • Review the concept of a ‘clinic without walls’ – a flexible, mobile, and person-centered service for consumers with SMI who cannot access care due to logistical and/or socio-economic barriers
  • Understand the market drivers for services delivered by a ‘clinic without walls’
  • Learn how to build a ‘clinic without walls’
  • Gain an understanding of the challenges faced by Hill Country MHDD Centers and how they were addressed.

Ross Robinson brings over 40 years of experience in the behavioral health industry to the OPEN MINDS team in his role as Senior Associate, with expertise in strategic planning and organizational development. Mr. Robinson has served in the health and human services fields of adult and child mental health, intellectual and developmental disabilities, substance use disorders, and juvenile corrections. With over 15 years of executive experience in the health and human services field, Senior Associate Jason Lippman, brings his expertise in health care strategy, public policy and government relations, managed care, and communications to the OPEN MINDS team. Prior to joining OPEN MINDS, Jason served as the Vice President of Strategy & Development for Beacon Health Options.
