OPEN MINDS Announces The 2026 CEO Tech & AI Summit, Sponsored By Qualifacts
GETTYSBURG, PA. (September 5, 2026) — OPEN MINDS announced The 2026 OPEN MINDS CEO Tech & AI Summit, sponsored by Qualifacts, a full-day summit for health and human services chief executives, taking place Wednesday, October 28, 2026, within The 2026 OPEN MINDS Technology & Analytics Institute at the Loews Philadelphia Hotel in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Half of specialty provider organizations have put AI-enabled clinical documentation tools into service, versus 34% in primary care. Only 36% have the organizational performance measurement in place to see what has changed since implementing these tools (2025 OPEN MINDS Technology Adoption Survey). Chaired by Paul Duck, Chief Strategy Officer at OPEN MINDS, the summit will examine the returns organizations are realizing from current technology investments, as well as the emerging technology infrastructure positioned to replace the industry’s legacy systems.
Brian Koll, Operations Technology Manager at LifeScape, a Sioux Falls nonprofit serving more than 5,600 children and adults with disabilities, will open the summit with a case study on using data to strengthen rate negotiations, support value-based payment, and identify opportunities for new service lines. LifeScape currently operates remote support technology across 39 of its adult residential buildings.
Melissa Fox, MHA, FACMPE, FACHE, Chief Operating Officer of Acenda Health, and Jeremy Brown, LPC, Vice President, Technology & Impact at Talbert House, will examine the gap between expected and realized returns from AI investments. Using real-world case examples, they will share the metrics used to evaluate performance, lessons learned from implementation, and examples of technology investments that produced little return.
The summit’s Lunch & Learn pairs Chris Seigel, MA, LPC, Chief Program Officer of Catholic Charities of St. Louis Mental Health & Substance Use Services, with Karen Baker, Chief Information Officer at Qualifacts, for a practical look at AI governance. The session will address how to structure an AI governance committee, establish accountability, and determine who reviews AI-generated content before it enters the clinical record.
Mike Briggs, Chief Executive Officer of Little Friends, Inc., will examine why digital transformation efforts often fail because of direction rather than technology. He will share how his organization established a digital transformation vision and built the operational discipline needed to keep pace as technology continues to advance.
The summit will close with a look at the shift from an EHR-centric technology strategy to a broader, integrated technology ecosystem. Presenters will examine the infrastructure and interoperability required to support that transition and the considerations executive teams face when moving away from legacy systems.
“You can buy the same technology as everyone else. You cannot buy the judgment about what to keep and the focus to get it implemented,” said Monica E. Oss, Chief Executive Officer of OPEN MINDS. “We built this summit so executives can learn from peers which technology investments are paying off, which aren’t, and what they wish they had known before making those investments.”
Access to the CEO Tech & AI Summit is included with registration to The 2026 OPEN MINDS Technology & Analytics Institute.
OPEN MINDS Circle members who attend all five summit sessions can earn seven credit hours toward the Leadership & Management Certificate Program.
