HHS Will Not Enforce Non-Discrimination Rules Against Faith-Based Foster Care & Adoption Provider Organizations
On November 1, 2019, the federal Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced it will not enforce existing non-discrimination rules against federal grantees including faith-based foster care and adoption provider organizations. Further, HHS is proposing new grant regulations to eliminate provisions in a 2016 rule that codified a prohibition on the provision of services of discrimination on the basis of age, disability, sex, race, color, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, or gender identity.
