I had a few "aha" moments during Dr. Daniel Martich's great keynote address last week, Five Challenges On The Road To Tech Nirvana: Advice To Executives On Technology, Analytics & Innovation , at the 2013 OPEN MINDS Technology and Informatics Institute. One is that UPMC, that $10 billion health care force located in western Pennsylvania, has invested more in tech infrastructure ($1.4 billion) in the past five years than Pittsburgh has invested in its three much-loved sports stadiums (only $818 million).
