I guess I shouldn’t have been surprised to hear that the latest entrant into the health care space is…Dollar General! The discounter has more than 17,400 stores across the country—including many in rural areas that don’t have access to grocery stores and pharmacies. As someone with rural roots, I can attest to the fact that in many small towns in America, a Dollar General (or Dollar Tree or Family Dollar or Dollar Store) is often the only remaining commercial enterprise.
