As of mid-April 2020, about 43% of community-based addiction treatment provider organizations in North Carolina lacked sufficient cash on hand to remain in business for the next 30 days due to financial constraints created by the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak and public health emergency. According to survey responses provided by 70 community-based addiction treatment provider organizations, in addition to the 43% that reported having no more than 30 days cash on hand to fund operations without receiving reimbursements, 10% reported having 31 to 45 days cash on hand, 13% reported having 46 to 60 days . . .
