Despite the market turbulence, investments, mergers, and acquisitions (M&A) in the behavioral health field were strong in the first quarter of this year. There was a total of 42 transactions – 34 traditional M&A deals and 8 growth-related investments as compared to 29 closed deals in Q4 2025 – according to a new analysis, Q1 2026 Behavioral Health M&A Report. However, the volume was below the 40 M&A deals closed in Q1 2025.
Of the Q1 2026 M&A transactions, 19 were in mental health. There were also 10 in the autism and I/DD space, and 5 in the addiction treatment market. The 8 growth investments had a combined value of approximately $535.7 million, led by financing rounds for Talkiatry and Grow…
