A Little Data Will Do
The results of a survey about Americans' views of non-profit organizations hit the streets last week (see What Americans Think About Philanthropy And Nonprofits). As someone who has served on a number of non-profit boards of directors and works as a consultant to more than a few, the findings were interesting. Almost 40% of Americans trust non-profit organizations to "do what is right"—more than Congress and large corporations (less than 6%).
