On October 6, 2000, Telecare Corporation opened an Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) program in Dallas, Texas, adding to its existing ones in San Antonio and Forth Worth, which it established in June 1999 and January 2000, respectively. ACT is a service-delivery, team-based program providing comprehensive community-based treatment to people with serious and persistent mental illness. ACT has demonstrated success in decreasing time spent in hospitals, facilitated community living psychosocial rehabilitation and supported recovery for those individuals.
