States Face Budget Cuts Following September 11 Attack
States from one end of the continent to the other are hurting financially following the September 11 terrorist attacks, prompting massive budget and program cuts, spending freezes and projects put on hold. States' tourist revenue has dwindled since the attack, and companies throughout the country have experienced massive layoffs. States such as Florida and Hawaii are especially hurting.
