The good news in health care privacy? The number of health care data breaches in 2025 fell 4.3% year-over-year—according new data reported in 2025 Healthcare Data Breach Report and Healthcare Data Breach Statistics. The authors made one caveat to the figures: Data breaches from 2025 are still being added to the Office for Civil Rights breach portal due in part to the actions of federal government in late 2025.
