Impact Times Two: The Best Of The 2026 OPEN MINDS Performance Management Institute
Impact. That was the overarching theme of every session at this year’s OPEN MINDS Performance Management Institute.
And both definitions of “impact” are relevant to the discussion. The first definition: “a sudden or powerful effect, a collision, the force of two objects hitting or crashing into each other.” The other: “a marked influence, a significant or major effect.”
With regard to the first, executive teams need to prepare for the impact of the many changes happening across the field—and plan to mitigate any potential negative consequences. In my closing remarks, Preparing For Impact: Performance Management As A Financial Sustainability Tool, I spoke to the many “market maker” trends that will likely change the business models and financial sustainability of provider organizations.
