There is lots of chaos in the market, creating management crises for provider organization executive teams. And there are few things quite so chaotic as rate cuts and lost contracts.
Just this week, the Maryland Developmental Disabilities Administration announced a $126 million funding cut; starting July 1, the state will reduce family caregivers’ wages to support consumers with developmental disabilities by as much as 50% (see Maryland Cuts Developmental Disabilities Care Funding, Putting Family Caregivers On Notice).
