Eastpointe and Sandhills Center, two of North Carolina’s Local Management Entity–Managed Care Organizations (LME-MCO) that manage public behavioral health benefits signed an agreement to consolidate. If approved by the state, Eastpointe will be the surviving LME-MCO. The consolidated organization will be headquartered in Moore County and will operate under the Sandhills Center name until a new name is selected.

The state’s LME-MCOs manage services for mental health, substance use disorders, and intellectual and developmental disabilities. There are six LME-MCOs in North Carolina: Alliance Health, Eastpointe, Partners Health Management, Sandhills Center, Trillium Health Resources . . .
