CDC Releases Interim Guidance On Rapid Antigen Testing For COVID-19
On September 4, 2020, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released interim technical guidance on rapid antigen testing for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) during the pandemic. Antigen tests can be used at the point-of-care; the currently authorized devices return results in about 15 minutes. Antigen tests for COVID-19 are generally less sensitive than viral tests that detect nucleic acid.
