Florida To Pilot Medicaid Managed Care For Individuals With I/DD In 7 Counties
The Florida Medicaid program is preparing to pilot Medicaid managed care for adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD). The pilot would integrate medical care and home- and community-based services (HCBS). The pilot is a provision of Florida Senate Bill 2510, a broad health care bill signed on June 15, 2023. It directs the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) to create the pilot program by January 31, 2024, in two regions that encompass Miami-Dade, Monroe, Hardee, Highlands, Hillsborough, Manatee, and Polk counties.
