Massachusetts To Transform Ambulatory Behavioral Health System
On February 24, 2021, the Massachusetts Executive Office of Health and Human Services (EOHHS) unveiled a four-year plan for transforming the state’s behavioral health system. The goal is to improve access to public and private ambulatory behavioral health services so that people are able to receive services when and where they need them. The plan will result in restructuring the behavioral heath crisis system. MassHealth (the state’s Medicaid program) will reimburse for integrated behavioral health and primary care services, enroll independent psychologists and licensed independent clinical social workers, cover certified mental health peer specialists, and launch value . . .
