U.S. Health Quality Measures Improved From 2000 Through 2017, With Variance By Priority Area
National performance on quality of care measures has improved from 2000 to 2017. However, the pace of improvement varied by priority domain: person-centered care, safety, healthy living, effective treatment, and care coordination. Progress on care coordination lagged behind compared to other areas, with improvement on 33% of care coordination measures. For the other domains, improvement was noted on 47% of measures.
These findings were reported in the “2018 National Healthcare Quality and Disparities Report” by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ). This report is mandated by Congress to provide a comprehensive overview of the quality of health . . .
