Ascension, a non-profit health system, reported a $1 billion net loss as of June 30, 2020. Most of the loss was attributed to drops in operations, resulting in reported a $639 million operating loss for the year. The loss compares to earnings of about $1.2 billion for the prior year ending June 30, 2019; which included a $130 million operating gain. However, Ascension reported revenue of $25.26 billion, which was down less than 1% from the June 30, 2019 revenue of $25.32 billion.
