OPEN MINDS The Behavioral Health & Social Service Industry Analyst Industry Statistic Medical students selecting psychiatry as a specialty at the time of Medical College Admissions Tests (MCAT) are least likely (among 14 specialty choices) to change their minds prior to finishing medical school, according to a 1987 study by David Babbott, M.D., of the University Of Vermont. Another study, a survey of 1,743 physicians by Glaxo, Inc., as part of its 'Pathway Evaluation ProgramÂ’, found that 86% of psychiatrists, surveyed had selected psychiatry as their specialty before finishing . . .
