When it comes to integrated service delivery models, the big question is: How do you make integrated primary and behavioral health care financially sustainable? For many organizations right now, the answer to their funding problems is grants. Grants of course are not a long-term solution – once the grants run out, organizations will have to find other ways to get their programs and services reimbursed. Still, for the short-term, grant programs have been helpful to programs wanting to “test the waters” when it comes to integration.
