During 2017, the 115 announced hospital and health system mergers and acquisitions exceeded the 2016 deal volume (102 deals) by 13%. The aggregated deal value in 2017 totaled $63.2 billion. The 115 transactions in 2017 included 11 that involved sellers with net revenue of $1 billion or greater, and 16 that involved hospitals and health systems with net revenue between $500 million and $1 billion (see Hospital Mergers Increased 13% In 2017).
